The Rules

  1. Backcountry Skiing or Ski Touring.  Not "Sidecountry".
  2. When putting in a skin track, it must be as vertical as is safely possible.
    1. Be a beast! Your legs should be steel and your technique flawless.  Point them up and march, and when your body tells you to ease up, refer to rule #5.
  3. Always carry a beacon and know how to use it.
  4. Always carry a shovel and a probe (preferably in a backpack).
  5. Rule #5...is rule #5 (http://www.velominati.com/the-rules/#5).
  6. Never ski over an established skin track.
  7. Never snowshoe or boot pack in a skin track.
  8. Playing music audibly so anyone other than yourself can hear it, unless agreed upon, is poor form.
    1. Bob Marley is the only exception to this rule.
    2. Never tour with someone who does not like Bob.
  9. Helicopters are for evacuations only...until you have enough money to take all your buddies out heli-skiing for the day.
  10. Hoar not Whore.
  11. No bicycle helmets allowed.
  12. Just because you have cellular reception, does not mean you should use it.
  13. When given the opportunity to bring an ice axe, do so.  There are few tools on the planet that are as purely awesome as an ice axe.
